Students' Message
The Student Bar Association seeks to represent all of the students of Howard University School of Law in order to enhance our moral, political, and intellectual development; to further the ethical ideals of the profession during our law school training; and to increase our knowledge and understanding of the substance and procedure of the law.  The theme for the 2009-2010 school year is “Let’s Go Higher Together” because we understand that every sub-group within HUSL—the students, staff, faculty, administration—must work cohesively if we are to further our legacy of developing talented, thoroughly prepared, and fearless legal professionals.

More specifically, our goals include providing support to increase bar passage rate, strengthening the Legal Writing Program, and enhancing our community involvement by completing at least 500 hours of community service to the District of Columbia.  Furthermore, the SBA is committed to building a strong bridge of support between current students and our committed alumni in hopes that we will foster strong mentor/mentee relationships and so that student programs such as the annual Howard Public Interest Law Student Auction and the Intellectual Property Student Association conference will receive the support needed to be successful and provide HUSL students with meaningful career opportunities.  To this end, we welcome and encourage support from our alumni family and requests that if any alumni are interested in mentoring one of our current students that he or she contact Ms. LuEllen Conti, Director of career Services, via phone at 202.806.8135 or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
